Life After WWII:

"Here is a real brief resume of my life as of 1946.  1946 discharged from Navy.  Worked for Safeway until 1947.  Joined the Army as a Sgt.  Worked as a teletype repairman in a civilian atmosphere in Seattle, Washington.  Then back and forth to Alaska until 1953.  Received my pilot certificate under the G.I. Bill.  Was accepted as a flight student at Fort Sill, Okla., in 1953.  Graduated as an Army aviator in 1954.  Transferred to Korea in 1955 from Ft. Riley, Kans.  Then back to the States in 1956.  Stayed in the Army as a pilot until 1961, then retired.  Just 6 months before, our aviation company went to Viet Nam.  I sure lucked out.  From 1961 to 1966 I flew as a commercial pilot in California and Alaska.  I then accepted an appointment as a GS-12 to fly for the DoD in Iran.  Was replaced by military pilots in 1971.  From 1971 to 1973 I flew for the California Forest Service.  Fighting fires in northern California from 1973 to 1975.  Then I sat back and drew unemployment.  I quit flying at this time.  I went to work for the Navy at the Puget Sound Naval Yard.  Transferred from there to Port Hueneme, California.  It is a weapons system engineering station.  I retired from there in 1982, with 32 years of federal service.  From 1982 until present, I have just been a retired guy enjoying life with my wife Helen.  Playing golf, bowling, dancing and whatever keeps us busy.  I have 2 motorcycles that I ride with a club that I belong to."  Loves to karaoke!
