William A. "Sandy" Hogrewe

(1921 - 1984)

Date of Birth:  October 08, 1921 - Chicago, Illinois

Date of Death:  January 12, 1984 - Visalia, California

Dates aboard the USS Inaugural:  12/30/44 - 04/13/46

December 1944 Rank:  Fireman 2nd class (see ranks section)

Life After WWII:  Worked as a furniture maker and cabinet maker right after the war.  He became foreman and plant manager of several furniture and wood working companies in and around Los Angeles.  He moved to the Sierra foothills, lived on a ranch and opened a restaurant in or around Three Rivers, next to Sequoia National Park.  Living and working in the mountains was always a life long dream of his.  He was buried with his fishing pole.
