Biography

Born in Astoria, NY, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Lytwyn) Fedora.  He attended Phoenixville High School for two years and played on the school's football team.  He was a 1933 graduate of Tredyffrin-Easttown High School.  He took a two year course in retailing and marketing at Banks Business College in Philadelphia, graduating at the top of his class.  He then worked for the Works Progress Administration paving local roads, and at the Chester Valley-Radnor Golf Club as a caddy master.  He finally found steady work at the Pennsylvania Railroad at 32nd Street in Philadelphia, working as a traveling agent and clerk.  He was then two years into an evening program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania when World War II halted his dream.  He Decided to put his life on hold and go to war.  At age 28, he joined the Navy, leaving on Christmas morning, 1942.  He served in the Pacific Theatre.  After the war he continued his job at the Pennsylvania Railroad, later becoming Conrail.  He retired as a Conrail claims investigator in 1979.  He served on the Phoenixville Borough Council for eight years as a Democrat in the first ward.  He was active with the Democratic Committee, Community Development, Parks and Property, Utilities, Health and Sanitation, Administration, Policy and Police Committees.
