Biography
Born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. Before entering the Navy, he attended college at the University of Evansville, also in Evansville, Indiana. In 1946, when the Inaugural stopped for repairs in Galveston, Texas, "Ace" volunteered to sing in the First Presbyterian Church choir, where he met his future wife Harriet. They were married in 1949. Received his masters degree at Texas Christian University. Worked 3 years as a high school teacher in Marshall, Texas and Abilene, Texas. Went on to spend 36 years at Dow Chemical Co. "Ace" has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He now enjoys to spend his time working with the Presbyterian church, Boy Scouts of America (60+ years), Brazosport community theater, his church and community choir, Literacy Volunteers of America, and the Walk to Emmaus movement.
